In 1996, with the granting by the PNG government of a 20-year fishing agreement RD Fishing PNG Ltd and RD Tuna Canners Ltd were formed.

Since its initial production, volume has steadily increased in its capacity and today the cannery can process up to 100 tons of raw tuna per day.

The complex with its two (2) processing lines capable of producing 66.5 ounce catering size and 6.5 ounce retail size, is efficiently operated by

a team of 1,100 PNG nationals/ managers and 42 Filipino supervisors/ managers.

 

The introduction of total quality management methods, the constant upgrading of plant, machinery and technical expertise

has positioned the company very well to meet the challenges of the 21^st century.
